Milani Holo With Some Stampage

I have completed an entire set of polish for the very first time!!! I now have all of the Milani 3D polishes! In honor of completing the set I decided to do a mani using one of the polishes. Are you shocked to find out that it is green? No me neither... I have a thing for green polishes! These are not the greatest holo polishes but they are still holo and I still love them! I also got to try out my first konad stamping polish that I won in a giveaway!

You probably can't tell but the polish I am holding is not the same polish my nails are painted with... Didn't even realize it was gold and not green until after the pictures. Then I realized that I left the green one at my parents house... oh well close enough.

I probably should have taken pictures of Hi-Tech before putting the pink over top... I think I soaked up a little too much sun this week lol.

For this mani I used  2 coats of Milani Hi-Tech and then using Konad Special Princess polish in pink (no name on the bottle) I stamped on the design from plate BM-205. I covered the whole thing with SV :)
I am not crazy about how this turned out... I don't think there was enough contrast between colors for this design to work well. Maybe it also had to do with both polishes being shimmery. I also am not crazy about the Konad stamping polish because it did not cover as well as I would have liked and it left a lot of polish on the stamper every time. Maybe I will try the Konad polish over some other colors and post a review.

My first Crackle Nail Polish...

I went to Sally's for the first time... yeah I know what is wrong with me for never going into that store until now?? I picked up a few things like a glass file (which I love) a giant thing of pure acetone, some mini polishes (will post pics soon) and China Glaze Crackle in Broken Hearted. I have seen the crackle polishes everywhere and felt like I had to have just one... even though I am not a huge fan of the crackle look. They only had the pink and the white... so I went with the pink because I can't resist pink. I really wish I would have gotten the white now because it would go with more colors. I might have to go back and get it.  Ok enough talking here is the mani:

Note: Click to enlarge to see the holo goodness even better!

So for this mani I used 1 coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme wear Celeb City which is super shiny metallic silver and then 2coats of Cover Girl Goddess which is a holo glitter. Once that was dry I put on 1 fairly thin coat of the crackle. I think I could have even done a thinner coat cause it didn't crackle as much as I wanted it to. I played with it a little more after this mani and it seems like the thinner the coat the more it crackles. I am still deciding on whether or not I like the crackle. At first I really didn't like it but after wearing it for a couple days it is starting to grow on me. Also I apologize for the shrinkage on the tips... I forgot to wrap the tips :(

Funky Grape Pop

Sorry that there has not been a good post in a while but I have been sick and we were already short 2 people at the daycare so I couldn't really call off. I wanted to share this mani with you because it made me feel a little better when I looked at it while I was sick :) I also wanted to share an experience that I had last night. One of the parents at the daycare asked if I could come to a little girls lock in at their church and do the girls nails. My roommate and I went to the lock in last night and it was so much fun, even though I was tired and still not feeling 100%. There were 20 something little girls and the two of us managed to do all of their nails in about 2 1/2 hours. We stamped all of their nails and even did some clean up on the ones that needed it. The girls were so excited and they loved having their nails done. They kept asking "all of this nail polish belongs to you?" lol I guess I do have quite a bit of nail polish.

This mani only lasted a day because it got covered in other nail polish from the lock in last night. Guess I will just have to do my nails again :)

Look at the pretty holographic glitter!

This is a more accurate representation of Grape Pop:

Since I haven't posted in a while I gave you lots of pics this time! For this mani I started with 2 layers of Funky Fingers Sand and Stilettos then one coat of SV. I then used tape to tape off the tip and painted on one coat of China Glaze Grape Pop and put another coat of SV on top. The flower design is actually a sticker because I was too tired to stamp after all of that tape. In some of the pictures you can tell how much the Funky Fingers eats up the SV. It still looks lumpy after a coat of SV and then a coat of China Glaze. If I were to do this again I would reverse it and paint the Funky Fingers on last.
Hope you are having a good weekend and thanks for stopping by!

My first Holo!!!

I am in love with Holo nail polishes!! Sadly I only have one holo and it doesn't compare to some of the holos out there :( This nail polish is still gorgeous!! It has not been sunny here, it has just been raining so no sunlight pictures unfortunately. I did however get new full spectrum light bulbs to use with my light box and I really like them. My pictures are not as yellow as they were before.  This is 2 coats of Milani HD in Hi-Res:

You can see the holo rainbows a little more in these next 2. In the first one you can see it in the bottle a little.

After the 2 coats of Hi-Res I applied a coat of SV and then stamped on the tips using MASH plate m56 and the ring finger using MASH plate m61. I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White for the stampin. Then I applied my final coat of SV.

Do you have any suggestions of other holos that I could get my hands on for cheap??
