Old Navy's "February Air"

Ever wonder what that catchy song featured on the new Old Navy commercial is?? Well after seeing it so many times during the award show season this past month, I have done some research and found this fabulous artist and song, both which I can't get enough of. And considering it's the last day of February, I figured what perfect timing to share this bit of news...

WHO: Lights
WHAT: "February Air"
WHERE: Her MySpace Page (You must add her as a friend!)

And just for fun, a clip of the Old Navy commerical:

Rihanna Set to Prove She's 'Good Girl Gone Bad'

Rihanna is definitely setting out to prove that she's no good girl, if her newest stage outfits are a sample of what she's like.

The 20-year-old singer stepped out on stage [in Dublin] in a show-stopping bondage-inspired outfit, complete with thigh-high lace up boots and a skimpy PVC corset.

Rihanna is touring the world to promote her 'Good Girl Gone Bad' album.

Charlie Sheen Wants Boycott of Denise's Show

Ahhh, what once was such a cute and happy couple, is now the ex-couple from Hell. In the latest in the mud slinging match that will just not go away, Charlie Sheen is calling for a boycott of Denise Richards' show from TV viewers.

The Two and a Half Men star – who took ex-wife Denise Richards to court in a failed attempt to prevent her from including their two daughters in a reality show – is now urging viewers to tune out the upcoming E! series.

"I think we should all just boycott the damn thing!" Sheen, 42, half-jokingly told PEOPLE Wednesday night at an Academy of TV event for his sitcom. "Issue a mass boycott."

In January, a judge gave the former Bond Girl, 37, permission to include the ex-couple's daughters Sam, 3, and Lola, 2, in the as-yet-untitled show (which is being produced by Ryan Seacrest's company to air this summer).

But the legal ruling did nothing to dampen Sheen's opposition to the project. "You don't go to court and make stands to prevent that if you don't firmly believe in it," he said.

Regarding the court's decision, the CBS star added, "The world is upside down sometimes."

I don't know about you all, but I won't be watching the show, and not because Charlie Sheen doesn't want me to.

Owen and Kate doing the "nasty"

According to this week's Us Weekly mag Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson may be back at it again. After Owen's suicide attempt, Kate must be ready to give Owen another chance at love. She broke it off with him because of the lack of attention she was receiving from him due to his part hardy ways. It's kinda weird that Owen, who's' knocking on 40's door, parties more than Kate at 28.

"They are hooking up," a Wilson insider told Us. Confirms a Hudson source, "They have definitely been talking, hanging out and, yes, hooking up."

Reconstructing Michael Jackson

A long time ago I promised to explain how I would 'fix' Michael Jackson's nose. Well, if it has been operated on as many times as I think it has, his nose is now a scarred-up mess.
The best way to recontruct a nose like his would be to treat it like a cancer reconstruction. We can remake the soft tissue (skin and fat) of a nose by transferring the skin from the forehead down to the nose. This entails two surgeries. During the first surgery we lift up the skin of the forehead (into a shape to fit the nose) and swing it down to what's left of the nose. We temporarily keep the skin attached to the forehead, where the blood vessels continue to supply blood to the transferred skin. This connection is left for about 3 weeks, to allow new blood supply to develop from the nose to the new transferred forehead skin.
Yes, for three weeks the person walks around with the skin of the forehead attached via a 'bridge' to their nose. It's a pretty strange sight.
After these three weeks, the patient goes back to surgery, where the connection is divided at the forehead and the skin is 'inset' into the nose, giving him a new, softer, larger nose. Now, Michael may also need some nasal support if a good portion of his cartilage and/or bone has been removed. This would likely entail grafts of bone or cartilage from his ribs, a somewhat painful procedure I rarely perform.
The "Paramedian Forehead Flap" is probably the best way to take today's Michael back to the 80's Michael. During the time of his healing, he would be no PYT.

The beginning of my casein paintings

I decided to put up some of my older works, since I still have not resolved my Kodak problem (thanks, Rhonda, for your suggestions!).

So, the image here is of one of my earlier casein pictures. When I first tried it I had just bought the small set and immediately found that it handles like watercolor – except when it doesn’t! After playing with it a while I became hooked on it.

I had already done a picture of tulips in watercolor and decided to try them in casein. This picture is on an 11x14 canvas and not a lot of change in colors, since I didn’t have that many and, as mentioned, had some problems mixing colors in my new medium. Overall, I am still happy with it.

I also work in fluid acrylics – just can’t do well with regular acrylics, don’t know why.

It’s fun now to pick and choose which medium to work in - casein, fluid acrylic or watercolor - for each piece.

Coral and Flowers

I was going to use my Konad stamp set last week, but got lazy, and didn’t want to stretch the polish job out over two days again. Instead, I opted for what I like to call “manicurist flowers” – those simple little flowers made of dots that it seems like everyone ends up with after a trip to the manicurist. They’re simple, easy, and I added a rhinestone to the center for a little “dazzle”. Not too bad, though I was in a hurry, so my dots aren’t all that straight.

What I used:

1 coat Nubar base coat
2 coats China Glaze Coral Star
Sinful Snow Me White for dots
Clear rhinestones
2 coats Nubar top coat (which bubbled…could be the Sinful dots)

I’m less than pleased with the Nubar top coat…the tips are pulling back already, and my index fingernail has a chip starting. I know the China Glaze polish wears better than that, so it has to be the top coat. Luckily, payday is Friday, so I’ll head over and get another bottle of OPI since mine is all “gooey”. I do need to grab some “non-big 3 free” top/base coats to use with my new Essie polishes, and I’ll be able to use those with my Sinful polishes as well.

I entered my Hearts and Pearls design in the March nail art contest over at trendyprincess.com...maybe I'll win some more nail art stuff!

I’m looking forward to greens, with St. Patrick’s day coming up. Maybe I’ll go green next week…

Oscars' Best Dressed and Best Tressed

The Oscars have come and gone, but the looks seen on the red carpet are still being talked about. From Hannah Montana's Miley Cyrus to Heidi Klum's charitable statement, the big color of the night was red and the hair was all about the bold side part, swept up and left down.

Anne Hathaway looks radiant in red with lips to match

Enchanted star and Oscar performer Amy Adams

Cameron Diaz wearing Dior and Bulgari jewels

Miley Cyrus looking as sweet and sophisticated as ever

Katherine Heigl chooses the bombshell look

Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson brings out the bangs

Glowing mom-to-be Jessica Alba

Glamorous Jennifer Garner in black

Penelope Cruz brings a simple hairdo to a new level

Best actress winner Marion Cotillard in vintage

Heidi Klum looks striking in a Galliano dress that is being auctioned off to raise money for the Heart Truth campaign.

Britney Spears Aged?

This past Friday I was featured on TMZ TV, regarding the recent Britney Spears age progression photos circulating the web. The photo to the left is what a website (ageprogression.org) believes she will look like at age 36.
I don't think this is accurate at all. If anything, she will look like her mother, Lynne Spears, who looks nothing like this horrible photo. If you really want to see something pathetic, check out what they predict she'll look like at 46.

The "Donda West Law"

California assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter (D-Rialto) has announced legislation to require preoperative clearance for all patients undergoing cosmetic surgery. This proposal, dubbed the "Donda West Law," is meant to save patients from future harm done by cosmetic surgery, and has been given the blessing by Donda West's son, rapper Kanye West (according to the Daily Bulletin).
This is a very interesting bill, considering less than a year ago the California legislature passed a law permitting oral surgeons (DDS dentists) to perform all forms of facial plastic surgery. Instead of forcing surgeons to make their patients undergo preoperative testing (some young, healthy patients may not need it), maybe they should instead make sure that anyone performing plastic surgery is a real, board-certified plastic surgeon? Unfortunately, the lobbyists won't allow that. Oh, how frustrating...

Matt Damon Going for Fourth Turn as Bourne

In case you didn't get enough of Matt Damon the first three times around as Jason Bourne, don't worry, he has signed on to do a fourth installment of the mega-blockbuster franchise. Director Paul Greengrass is set to take the directing chair.

No details have been released yet regarding a name or a direction, since author Robert Ludlum had only penned three Bourne novels.

'Breakfast At Tiffany's' Gown Voted Classiest

A tally of over 3800 voters bestowed the honor of Classiest Cinema Gown to the black dress that Audrey Hepburn wore in the film 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', beating out Julia Robert's red velvet in 'Pretty Woman', and Marilyn Monroe's white halter in 'The Seven Year Itch'. The poll was run by newspaper USA Today.

Jolie Chickens Out of Meeting Up With Aniston

There has been talk for weeks about how Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie were supposed to meet up at the Beverly Hills Hotel Pre-Oscar party, and how it was to be their first meeting since Angie stole away Brad Pitt. All the gossipmongers were supremely dissappointed when Angelina and Brad opted to attend the Independent Spirit awards, but were instead surprised by Jolie's choice of outfit, which put her big baby bump on full display. The ploy effectively took the focus right off the Jenn-Ange battle, and put it squarely on Jolie's tummy.

Well played, Angelina.

Oscar's Worst Dressed

Cate Blanchett

Tilda Swinton

Ellen Page

Diablo Cody

Tlda Swinton and Diablo Cody tied for first place in the Worst Dressed category for me, with Swinton wearing a one armed velvet potato sack, and Cody basically forgetting to get out of her leopard nighty. Runner ups were a pregnant Cate Blanchett, and blah Ellen Page.

Who were your nominees for Worst Dressed?

Yeah, Sarah, Jimmy's F*****g Ben Affleck

In a great retaliatory effort at getting girlfriend Sarah Silverman back for "F*****g Matt Damon", Jimmy Kimmel creates his music video, "I'm F*****g Ben Affleck". Kimmel also recruits a who's who of Hollywood and music stars to sing backup and solos, as well as cameo appearances.

The quirky list includes Brad Pitt, Robin Williams, Don Cheadle, Macy Gray, Dominc Monaghan, Benji and Joel Madden, Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson, Lance Bass, and Cameron Diaz. I guess Jennifer Garner and Angelina Jolie weren't available?

Anyway, I think Sarah Silverman's video was better because of it's originality. Kimmel's video is funny, but it was a bit of a copycat version to me, which, I guess, was the point.
