Friendly Encounters

This is another in a series of meetings of my friends and celebs.

Hollywood Bobby Olsen (HBO) is a wrestling manager on the independent scene. For the past 11 years Olsen has worked for several organizations, mostly in the Ohio and Indiana areas.
In 1998, Olsen worked the photo booth for
Woman (Nancy Benoit) at the first Brian Pillman Memorial Show. Olsen describes her as a very sweet lady who took the time to know him a bit and call him by name all day. According to Olsen, "That day is what pushed me over the edge and I got in the business and been trying to make it as a manager ever since."
Olsen has worked with many big names in the in
dustry, such as Tito Santana. More importantly, he is working with some future big names in the industry. Hopefully, Olsen will gain the fame and success that he deserves.
I was also a big fan of Woman. She was one of the original big-time women in wrestling. Woman was a great character, who never wrestled and did not rely on plastic features to get over with the crowd. Woman used subtle looks, body language and verbal skills in making herself one of the best managers-valets.
Unfortunately, I never had the chance to meet Nancy (just barely missing at 2 Pillman Memorial Shows). Therefore, Woman is definitely on my list of 'Never Met' (more on that in a future post).
