Today, it's my pal Jake again. Last year, Jake met the giant troll at the Bailey's Landing gift shop in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Wisconsin Dells is the self-proclaimed "Waterpark Capital of the World". This area has grown since I was a kid, when Tommy Bartlett's water show was the big attraction. Now the Dells has everything, including a casino!
I have done extensive research and cannot find a name for the giant troll. In the age of marketing and merchandising, I am quite surprised that he remains nameless, with very little in the way of historical info. I'd think there would be everything from bobbleheads to face masks.
The troll splits his time between sleeping (snoring), singing classic tunes (like "As Time Goes By") and making snide remarks to visitors. Despite his namelessness, the troll is a popular attraction.
The troll is lucky Jake visited last year, because young Jake has grown about a foot since then and his appetite has grown proportionally. The troll might have been lunch for Jake!
