These bead were carved in Tibet over 25 years ago .

In many Asian cultures dragons were, and in some cultures still are, revered as representative of the primal forces of nature, religion and the universe. They are associated with wisdom—often said to be wiser than humans—and longevity. They are commonly said to possess some form of magic or other supernatural power, and are often associated with wells, rain, and rivers.

Oriental dragons generally, can take on human form and are usually seen as benevolent, whereas European dragons are usually malevolent though there are exceptions.

CINNABAR

The red vintage genuine cinnabar bead is of superior quality

Genuine cinnabar beads are made from a lacquer which is derived from a tree sap found in China. The tree is tapped like a maple and the resulting gum is purified by heating and then made into lacquer by adding a solvent. This resulting lacquer is slowly added in many layers over a wood base.
The lacquer can be colored in various hues including black, red, green, yellow and brown although most people are only aware of the red cinnabar. The lacquer is then carved to represent various symbols or images found in nature such as birds and flowers.

In the case of this bead, many layers of red lacquer have been deposited and then hand carved with intricate details.

This was a mad idea ,
A Gun metal copper wire wrapped ring with clock parts inlay in an oversized mysterious amber bead . I have found an other way to incorporate a larger size of bead so i had to see what it would look like with lots of clock parts , like an invention from a mad scientist .

Imagine this ring was invented in the steam era , it would have been worn not only for adornment . It would probably have some mysterious functionality .
How about the power to open dimensional portal ?
I like to think that there's some kind of magic into these rings .

When i first designed my rings i always imagine that depending on the type of stone it opens portal to different dimension or they could allow the control of specific elemental sphere and metaphysical powers .

At this time i have not decided one which powers each rings have but I'm always inspired by fantasy world such as in Howl's Moving Castle animation & also from my dungeon and dragon knowledge ( I used to play a lot & also i was a dungeon master ) .

In an imaginary world , beside adornment what do you think is the main functionality of this ring ?

New Wire wrapped steampunk bracelet with vintage button and clock gears

Recently i received some great vintage button to work with . I modified 2 of them with clock gear and mixed some antiqued gunmetal beads + amber .

I received a pile of 1 pound of tiny clock parts . Now i have so many different kind to play with . I just find new things every time i look at it . Yesterday i made my first ring out of a few parts . I used a mysterious amber bead , drilled tiny holes in it and inlay clock gears and parts . These gears are very tiny so it take a lot of patience to work with and also a lot of time .

Mysterious Amber Steampunk Jewelry & Rings

Recently i added a few bracelet to my shop to match with different rings . I also plan to make earrings once i find the right material and design . I will add more similar to these in black , silver and Grey with moonstone .

This is my latest invention the ORBIT STEAMED

Longtime ago i made a pendant like this so i just made a similar one with the Mysterious Amber.

Mysterious Amber Steampunk Ring

New Genuine Baltic Amber

I'm always on the look for some uncommon materials . When i don't make rings , i take a break and search the web. I have spent hours looking for Genuine Baltic amber in the right size and shape . I bought some that the seller claimed was genuine Baltic amber but was not convinced it was the real thing .

Originally i had bought beads on Etsy which were expensive and i believe it was the real deal .
Then i got others that I'm still not sure of . I called it Mysterious Amber and explain in the detail of the ring that i didn't know for sure . Recently while i was making a ring i drilled one of the mysterious bead and to my surprise it smelled very sweet , which is good because it is one of the characteristic of real Amber . Although I'm skeptic , it convinced me that it is not plastic but did not convince me that it was amber .

It really has many of the visual characteristic of real amber and is a perfect match for this style of rings . I always associated amber as being the most steampunk precious stone of all but that's only my opinion. I think that amber has the ability to freeze time , even sometimes specimen of fossilized insect can be found inside ,frozen in time !

For example :

Finally i have found a supplier in Lithuania who sell 100% guaranteed genuine Baltic amber and has been in the Amber business for over 20 years . So i bought the only strand in the right size that they had in stock .

I really like the natural look of these beads .I cant wait to received them so i played with photoshop to see what it will look like .

Steampunk brass wire and amber ring

This is the first ring of a new variation of my steampunk rings . Its not for sale yet . I will eventually make more and sell them . It his made of honey Baltic amber , brass , copper and small pieces i collected from old broken watch .

I believe it is somehow connected to the brass time travel cicada .
