Mariah Carey Comments on my Plastic Surgery Speculation

On a recent interview on E! Radio, Mariah Carey commented on my recent speculation that she's had plastic surgery:

"One of the rumors I just heard about was that I spent $150,000 in plastic surgery. What in the ham sandwich do they think I did? It's very annoying."

Oops. I think I annoyed her.
The much-disputed $150,000 figure was asked of me by the magazine, and my thought was that it is possible she could have spent this much to look so good. Not all of it would be attributed to plastic surgery, but also to skin care products, gym memberships and/or equipment, personal training, facials, chemical peels, body skin treatments, and even specialty foods and vitamins. When these things are taken into account, $150,000 for an A-list star like her is not outside the realm of possibility.

I am actually a fan of hers. In fact, the first CD I ever bought was her Vision of Love album when I was a freshman in college. I think she is a major talent and have enjoyed her music over the years, so I hope my comments haven't caused her any hurt. I do think she looks fantastic.

Mariah's New Single Hits The Radio

Mariah Carey's new single, "Touch My Body" has hit the radio!

The first single, off of her much-anticipated upcoming album, E=MC2, debuted today on New York radio station Z100. The song was written and produced by Carey, C. "Tricky" Stewart and The-Dream and she has also shot a music video for it as well with director Brett Ratner.

EMC2, Carey's 11th album, is due to be released on April 15. Other big-name producers on the album include, Jermaine Dupri, will.i.am and Nate "Danjahandz" Hills.

Mariah Carey Divas Out of Fake Nose for Film Role

Mariah Carey, who is notorious for being a glamour diva, decided against too much dressing down for a part in the film 'Tennessee'.

Nicole Kidman famously won her Oscar "by a nose" - but don't expect Mariah Carey to let a fake schnoz come between her and her public.

A source tells us that her character in "Tennessee," produced by Lee Daniels, had to be significantly de-glammed - which didn't go down too well.

"Mariah is the nicest person to work with; everyone loves her," says the snitch. "But she was uncomfortable being uglied up for the part."

Carey plays a Southern waitress who sets off with two brothers in search of their father. While she consented to cornrows, she passed on the fake nose and bushy eyebrows that had been conceived for the part.

"When she saw the nose, she called her people and decided against it," says the source. "She was not a diva about it, but she did seem very insecure about her appearance."

Personally, I think Mariah needs all the help she can get in the acting department, and if a fake nose will distract the audience from her emoting, then by all means, Cyrano de Bergerac the living crap outta that girl!

Mariah Carey's 'M' Fragrance Launch

Mariah Carey always knows how to draw a crowd!! Hundreds of fans crowded on the sidewalk outside the Macy’s Herald Square Broadway entrance to catch a glimpse of the superstar as she made her grand entrance for the launch of her debut fragrance, M by Mariah Carey. The M by Mariah Carey fragrance launch had one of the largest fan turnouts at Macy’s to date!

In true Mariah fashion, she made her grand entrance in a Bentley Phantom convertible, flanked by two black SUVs decorated with M by Mariah Carey flags. Mariah stepped out onto a purple “M” carpet surrounded by hundreds of cheering fans armed and ready with cameras in hands! When she entered the store to walk down the purple carpet, she was greeted by members of the Brooklyn Music & Arts Program Drumline playing “It’s Like That” and donning purple M by Mariah Carey t-shirts. Fans were sprawled throughout the store, surrounding each aisle and crowding in the fragrance area trying to get a glimpse of the superstar.

Mariah signed autographs for 200 fans who purchased gift sets then later proceeded to the VIP area for a meet-n-greet and photo opp for 50 fans who purchased an additional fragrance gift set.
