DJ AM and Travis Barker Burned in Plane Crash

As you may have already heard, DJ AM and former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker were severely burned in a plane crash which killed four other people. According to CNN.com, they both suffered second and third degree burns, Barker to the torso and lower body, and DJ AM to the head and arm. They are currently at the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia.

I've worked in a Burn Unit several times during my plastic surgery training, and now occasionally take care of minor burns. Third degree burns are also known as full thickness burns, and necessitate skin grafting for the area to properly heal. Second degree burns (split thickness burns) are characterized by blistering. Depending on how they heal, second degree burns may or may not need skin grafting. Burns wounds, as you may guess, are extremely painful and often require a lengthy recovery. I don't know their exact medical details, but it sounds to me that the burns they suffered are usually not fatal. Burns like what they reportedly have, though, usually require several weeks in the hospital and several months in physical therapy.

I wish these two guys the best during their recoveries.

DJ AM Moving Down the Hollywood Food Chain

Just because DJ AM hasn't come right out in a magazine interview and said he's shtupping starlets (think Brody Jenner in Details) for fame, doesn't mean that's isn't what he's doing. I think, no, I KNOW he could have done better than replace Mandy Moore with celebutard whorebag Kimberly Stewart. I bet he and Brody Jenner put names of all the skanky starlets in a hat and then randomly pick one to see who they get to date next.

Mandy Moore is Single Again

Mandy Moore and Adam Goldstein, a.k.a. DJ AM, have called it quits just two months into their relationship. Moore, 22, and Goldstein, 33, had known each other for years, and decided to take it a step further around New Year's. Rumors and blind items abounded regarding that the reason they were dating was so Adam could maintain his name in the tabs, and vice versa for Mandy.

No reason has been given as of yet for the pair going their seperate ways, just that it was a mutual decision.

Looks like the "non-lovebirds" were out having a good time at Disneyland, on Valentine's Day. Mandy Moore and her "good friend" DJ AM wear almost identical outfits as they stroll through the theme park.

The Real Reason for Mandy's Depression

The National Enquirer has unearthed the real reason behind Mandy Moore's recently revealed bout with depression. Most thought it was her break-up with 'Scrubs' star Zach Braff, but in reality it was the public comments that ex, Wilmer Valderrama made about their sex life that hit her hardest.

Notorious serial-dater, Valderrama, appeared on Howard Stern's radio show and made several boastful comments about taking Moore's virginity. Mandy may have been close to depression prior to hte incident, but it was hearing about this that really sent her over the edge.

"Mandy couldn't believe her ears when she heard the hurtful and tacky comments," said a friend of the pretty 22-year-old actress/singer. "She just wanted to crawl under a table and hide."

She purposefully disappeared from the Hollywood scene for a while, and holed up in a mountain cabin in the Catskills to nurse her hurt pride.

Moore seems to have bounced back well though, recently being seen out and about with new rumored love interest, DJ AM. They have been spotted kissing and snuggling most recently at Sundance.
