I hadn't done an illustration of an actual person in awhile. I was really inspired by this specific shot of my friend Tavuchi that I saw on RIDSNAP. I love that she is still true to her style here, but its not too typical. I love everything about the style that is going on in Tokyo right now.
I remember when I met Tavuchi that she expressed that Harajuku is changing. It is becoming a "fast fashion" place now, and the true Harajuku that once was is slowly dying out. Thankfully, there are still plenty of interesting people that crawl through the backstreets, but will Koenji be the next early Harajuku?
