New RIDSNAP Illustration

One of my FAVORITE Street Snap web sites as many of you know is http://www.ridsnap.com . Their scouts always find the people and trends that are on the most cutting edge end of Tokyo style. Tonight when I was checking their site, I noticed my friend was on the site! I was really excited to see her. We became friends through Tavuchi, as she was one of her regular customers. I decided to do a new illustration of her here!

今私はfurryのファッションが好きです.彼女のスカーフは素晴らしいです.The colors are great. I like the accent of orange cheeks and the orange button.

Tavuchi of Spank!+RIDSNAP!

I hadn't done an illustration of an actual person in awhile. I was really inspired by this specific shot of my friend Tavuchi that I saw on RIDSNAP. I love that she is still true to her style here, but its not too typical. I love everything about the style that is going on in Tokyo right now.



I remember when I met Tavuchi that she expressed that Harajuku is changing. It is becoming a "fast fashion" place now, and the true Harajuku that once was is slowly dying out. Thankfully, there are still plenty of interesting people that crawl through the backstreets, but will Koenji be the next early Harajuku?

Rid Snap

So I've made various references to Ridsnap on my blogs. Ridsnap is one of my FAVORITE street fashion web sites that exists. Ridsnap covers street fashion in Tokyo, and they do a great job of it. There are even party snap shots, and videos as well. The videos give even more of a sense of reality to the great styles that many young Tokyoite's have.
