Don't Shoot the Messenger

Which recently launched gossip Web site can't keep staff? "Our new editor went partying in Miami a few weeks ago and just sort of never came back," complains one insider, who now has to cover her 6 a.m.-3 p.m. shift. "It's awful."

You mean the party's over??? I better get back to work....

Remember back in the day, when Alias wanted Lena Olin to return to the show so badly, they offered her an insane amount of money, but she turned it down?

Well, here's a little ditty that goes something like that...

(Reminder: We don't name names when it comes to Stumpers, but that doesn't prevent you all from doing your darnedest to figure it out below!)

Lena 2.0
Lena 2.0 is a fan favorite (and Kristin favorite) who starred in the very first episode of a Hit Show we fans get a little nutty about. He (yes, he—perhaps I should have called him Leonard instead of Lena?) was written off the show toward the end of last season, and from what I hear, he wasn't so happy about getting the boot. Neither were his costars.

Well, fast-forward to a few weeks ago, when the producers of Hit Show called up Lena—oh, heck, let's call the poor guy Leonard so he can preserve his dignity—and asked him to return for the season finale. They were sure he'd say yes. After all, the whole season was leading up to his return! But much to their surprise—you know what's coming, right?—Leonard said no. Again and again and again. To increasingly obscene amounts of money. See, it turns out Leonard's pride is priceless.

So now, Hit Show's producers have quite a storyline conundrum on their hands: What to do without the return of Leonard? Guess we'll have to wait and see...but to be honest, I'm not worried. These guys haven't failed me before.

Hated Harry
A certain heartthrob on a show I love—I would call him Handsome Harry—has always been a perfect gentleman to me. He's gorgeous, charming, witty—all the makings of a future husband!—and comes across the exact same way on his popular show. But I've just learned (and it chills me to the bone!) that those who work with Harry have an entirely different opinion of their costar. He is hated. By everyone—especially the people whose characters hate him on the show. And it's funny, 'cause I guarantee you would think someone else on this particular series was the diva on set. But trust me: Harry takes the cake.

WHICH overtanned, underfed socialite was so disappointed she didn't receive an invite to Stephen Schwarzman's 60th birthday, she tried to crash the soiree? When stopped at the door and told her name wasn't on the guest list, she pleaded, "Go ask Christine [Schwarzman]. She's a friend of mine." The door woman went in, came out, and turned the socialite away in front of a group of whispering witnesses.

One Behind-the-Behind Blind Vice

Okay, if you're sick o' the pooftah stuff (and if you are, can't imagine why you're reading this missive right now), click off. 'Cause here comes the fairy mother Blind Vice of all fairy-esque naughty happenings in H-town…

Preen Pumper has a fairly superclean rep, despite being pretty much of a dawg before he hooked up with his longtime love, Dare E. Airre. But then, longtime amour never lasts in this heathen-filled 'ville, right? Right.

Therefore, P2 has been making his way through various buxom hookups, post-Dare split. And P.P.'s current lady love seems to be—perhaps—in for the long haul. We'll see, won't we?

I'm just, uh, wondering if we should send out some kind of warning to P.P.'s current babe-friend, a nice enough gal who seems to be a bit o' a farm-fed femme, seemingly pure and all that (unbelievable) nonsense.

See, Preen has his sexual peccadilloes, don't we all? And Preen's, it turns out, is alternate-entry sex, which, when I've polled most of my (male and female) straight buds, I have found out is not so unusual on the het scene: I mean, if you're a guy, you just basically want to put it anywhere you can, n'est-ce pas?

Well, we'll touch on that pokin' theory another time. Right now, we gotta get back to Preen, who always prefers his outback ways to involve a guy, turns out. What a surprise! Closeted homosexual behavior in Tinseltown! I'm shocked!

It's just that Preen's demands in this arena are downright creepy, as Mr. Pumper always insists that his guy partners never:

—Kiss him.

—Undress.

—Look at him.

—Have an orgasm anywhere in P.P.'s vicinity.

Additionally (I'm surprised Preen doesn't have his partners sign confidentiality contracts, but, ah, isn't Tinseltown just made for stupid-ola freakazoids?), Pumper insists on remaining squeaky-clean himself, but he is willing to go a second round, should all these cumbersome rules not get in the way of any spontaneity. Gosh, how could they possibly not?

Sounds like having sex with Martha Stewart on steroids or something! (This is a joke, E! Legal Eagles, please be advised.)

Oh, and by the by, should tell you all that Ms. Airre had no idea her man was going out the door for the behind-door stuff. Until now, that is.

And it ain't:

Which young H'wood celebrity, married to a bitchin' broad, likes to take humongous dump sessions (think zoolike results) in the common bathroom of the Hollywood high-rise where he offices? Desk Nostril reports the stench is so offensive, people flee when they see him coming. Gosh, do you think we should call one of Charlie's Angels in and ferret the foul sitch out?

To me, this screams Ashton Kutcher. Any other guesses? Agree? Disagree? Leave your comments!

This pretty boy TV actor has been the subject of much speculation about his sexual orientation. He SEEMS straight but he has some idiosyncrasies. Since he IS successful, he often has starving young actor friends staying with him. He lets them know that if they bring a date home, that he likes to WATCH. He doesn't want to join in the fun, he is simply a voyeur. At first, his houseguests find it amusing or sexy, but after awhile it gets creepy and they inevitably move out.

Two Cheeky Chicky Blind Vices
Being a child star is tough, right? Fame at a tender age equals big bucks along with big trouble for most...certainly did for Crystal Chipper, who shot to stardom during a stint in H-town way back when.

Now, years later, Crystal’s outta rehab and swearing up and down to myriad media outlets that she’s recovered from that par-tick nasty drug addiction.

Too bad she replaced it with another.

'Cause at a recent late-night Hell-Ay party, C.C. was seen inhaling lines of blow like my cat Butch sniffs out his sister Cleo’s bum. Hey, C., you can’t claim “clean and sober” unless you’re off all substances...not just the one you went to rehab for, or didn’t your stylists (both for life and couture) tell you that?

With ears far more perked to what her peeps tell her to do would be Bore-Tense Breathy, costar of that teen-angst series From Here to the Fraternity. See, unbeknownst to her increasingly sizable (hardly impressionable) young fans, Bore-Tense prefers to keep her cooing voice, kisses and cuddles aimed toward other femmes, hardly the boys. At least, behind the camera.

And Ms. Breathy’s been getting pretty ballsy, too, ‘bout makin’ it plain she doesn’t like the dude dance, as B.T.B.’s been bringing her g-f to pro events. This unusually upfront approach—well, not perhaps, for dames like Ellen and Portia—has sent Breathy’s agents and management team reeling. Consequently, they demanded Bore-babe break up with her intended.

And guess what? She did. Now, Bore-Tense dates boys, ain’t it grand?

Predictably pathetic is more like it.

(Of course, Anne Heche wouldn’t agree.)

And it ain't:

You Can Call Me "J"
Share everything. That's the first rule of kindergarten, is it not? Well, apparently the producers of a certain popular show skipped right on to first grade, because sources tell me things just got ugly behind the scenes. Here's the gist. The producers of a certain Underdog Show that many WWKers totally heart (it's quality TV, but it is struggling in the ratings) asked a certain lovable performer from an established Popular Show on the same network to do a guest spot. (The ratings are low, and Underdog needs all the help it can get!) It all seemed like a great idea—until the poop hit the fan.

Apparently, the deal was made without the approval from the Popular Show's producers, not to mention the network brass, and things immediately got nasty. The Popular producers and the network bigwigs lashed out at Underdog. How dare they try this without getting their boss’ blessing! After much distress, a stern order came down insisting that all said actor’s scenes be cut immediately...and you best believe the order was carried out.

Pansy Press is one screwed-up dude. Let's see. Where shall we begin? P2's colleagues are not fond of him, as he's wont to do things such as hit, berate and hit on his myriad acting buds. Yum, such an assortment of naughtiness from which to choose! Not!

But if you're wondering why Pansy is almost always—both in public and private—on the verge of committing (if not already going ahead with) an Isaiah Washington—i.e., totally inappropriate public behavior—well, there's a reason. Yep, one that Anna Nicole just might have identified with. See, whether it involves punching guts, pinching asses or pissing all over—verbally speaking, mind you—Pansy's shocked costars, there's a reason Mr. Press is so damn unpredictable. "He's on every drug you can imagine," sniffed one of his hard-partying amigos. "And I don't mean the nonrecreational kind." Hmmm. Can hardly say I'm surprised. Makes perf sense. Par-tick regarding the notion that I've always suspected: P.P., famous for his hetero ways, is really a fruit at (non-nine-to-five) heart. But then I always think that, don't I?
