BLOG FEATURE! WereThunder

So as some of you may know, I was able to also visit Seoul this summer. It was an amazing trip. Thanks to one of my friends, I got to hang out with the cool Hana of WereThunder, also shop staff at AproGod. He and his friend Hanna are really great. They are deeply connected to the undeground Seoul Street fashion scene. I was so happy to meet them so that they could show me around. He has even been IN Tune magazine! This is my dream, as well as Cracker Your Wardrobe, a Korean influential fashion magazine, numerous times.

Hana also speaks fluent Japanese, and is very interested in Japanese fashion as well. In fact, his girlfriend goes to the famous Bunka in Tokyo, which he also plans to attend later to develop his own brand.

Please check out his blog. Its worth a look for Japanese, Korean, American, or anyone interested in the Seoul underground fashion scene.

I applaud people like Hana, because at least to my perception, it may be a little more difficult to be as avant-garde in Seoul compared to Tokyo. Hana and the people he knows remain true to who they really are, and are potentially a huge part of a growing movement in Seoul. Hana and Hanna, if you read this, it was AMAZING meeting you. I wish you all the best.

Inspired by Viva H.

Well, I'm going to Tokyo and Seoul this summer. I really can't wait. Recently, I've been trying to find some more good sites for Seoul street fashion. I searched and found a blog for the brand "Viva H.", which is a label I had previously featured on this blog before. This inspiration is somewhat inspired by street fashion in Seoul, and all of those cute Korean girls with the Kawakubo-esque hairdo's. If anyone knows of good sites or good places to recommend in Seoul for art or avant-garde or vintage fashion, let me know. Please keep scrolling through the blog to see my feature on Viva H.!

Viva. H!

Today I got a nice email from a new Korean designer, who sent me information on her brand "Viva H!" Noticing how I sometimes feature new inspiration and talent on my blogs, she asked if she could be featured.

After looking at the great designs, I thought "for sure!"

Recently, I have had a blogger friend who has been really interested in Korean fashion, which also got me kind of interested. I like that the construction of a lot of the new Korean talent I'm seeing is similar to that of a somewhat Japanese aestetic, yet more refined, but maybe a little more edgy, too!

What I like about Viva H!'s designs is that I feel like they are very relatable to what is new in fashion right now, especially with the kind of designers I'm watching and keeping my eye on. I love the construction of the clothes, especially the way the peices come together, and the assymetrical balance. Another thing I'm enjoying is the geometry and simplicity of backgrounds within the web site and the email I recieved. I would love to visit the interior of this store if that was ever possible!
