Perhaps the gainfully unemployed 'O.C.' actress is trying to get a little Britney/Lindsay/Paris type mileage from her saggy ass.

Mischa Barton wasn't exactly sympathetic when she heard that The O.C. was going to be canceled. You'd think she might have shown some allegiance to the show that launched her career [Jossip Ed: If being the Keds poster-child really constitutes a "career"] but nope, Barton was pretty much just a straight-up bitch about it:

When asked if she was surprised that the show had been axed she told Fox News, "No. They killed me off."
When asked if she had been one of the main reasons that fans tuned into the show, she added, "That's what I think they discovered."

Yep, that's exactly the kind of 'tude you'd expect from a non-working actress doubling as a full-time sneaker-peddler.

Mischa Barton is out of work again, believe it or not. It’s funny because I never thought she could act so I understood why she wasn’t getting any movie deals. However, I was totally shock when I found out that Bebe is replacing her. I think she’s photogenic and seems to fit Bebe’s target demographic. Anyways, guess who’s the new face of Bebe?

Bebe announced today announced that super model-turned-actress Rebecca Romijn has been tapped to succeed Mischa Barton as the face of bebe launching for Summer 2007.

“Rebecca Romijn is a strikingly beautiful, multi-talented star, who exudes a sexy and playful elegance that is the essence of the bebe woman,” said Manny Mashouf, Founder and Chairman.

“Rebecca is very much like Mystique, the action character she has portrayed in the blockbuster X-MEN franchise,” continued Mr. Mashouf. “She is fearless and self confident and these are qualities that resonate with women today.”

The Summer 2007 campaign will launch Mid-April in national and regional magazines, outdoor advertising and direct mail. Romijn will make her first official front row appearance at the Fall 2007 COLLECTION bebe runway show which will take place in Los Angeles at the end of March.
