Meet the New 'Bachelor', Brit Matt Grant

Ladies, start your engines! The newest 'Bachelor' has been announced, and he is 27 year old Matt Grant, a British “global financier” and business development manager.

ABC says:
The London-based hunk is “totally charming and [a] witty English gentleman [who] works with millionaire businessmen, but he has something on his mind that is more urgent than any business deal — he wants to find the love of his life and to start a family as soon as possible,” the network says.

For his part, Grant, who has four brothers (all married!), says picking his love from 25 single American ladies puts him in a “privileged position.”

We'll see if this guy has better luck than the last one, Brad Womack, who chose none of the 26 ladies he was presented with.

'The Bachelor' Curse Continues

Just a couple of days after appearing on 'The Bachelor' after show, and proclaiming their love for each other, former 'Bachelor' Byron Velvick's gal, Mary Delgado, punched him in the face and got arrested.

Delgado, who was picked up by police in Tampa, Florida in the early hours of Wednesday (21Nov07) morning, stands accused of punching Velvick in the face and cutting his lip while under the influence of alcohol. She has been charged with domestic battery and was released from police custody on Wednesday afternoon.

The two "lovebirds" have been living together in Tampa for the last three years, and had just announced their impending marriage on ABC on Tuesday night.

Unprecedented 'Bachelor' Move: Rejects Last Girls Standing

Well, 'The Bachelor' finale has come and gone, and two bachelorettes are left to scratch their heads in horror and disbelief. 'Bachelor' Brad Womack went to the trouble of going out and buying an engagement ring, only to end up rejecting both ladies and sending them packing. This, after both professed their love for him, and he was unable to return the sentiment.

Both girls were more disappointed that he picked neither than that they themselves weren't chosen.

In related gossip, the rumor mills are working overtime with the possibility that Brad's ex-girlfriend not only got in touch with him during the show and the two were dating during taping, AND, allegedly, she is also now expecting his baby, supposedly due fairly soon.

Oh, will the drama never end? Apparently not, because tonight Womack is on the hotseat in an ABC follow-up special, and both jilted ladies get to ask some tough questions. I hope the ex-girlfriend shows up with her big old belly, and really gets the drama going into overdrive. Yippee-ki-yay, m*****f*****!!

Last Season's 'Bachelor' Off to Iraq

Last season's uber-boring 'Bachelor', Andy Baldwin, is being deployed to Iraq in January. Baldwin's rep confirmed that the Naval doctor has up to a 12-month assignment in the Gulf.

In the meantime Baldwin has broken up with TV love Tessa Horst (no surprise). A Baldwin pal says that while long-distance love was already proving difficult (he’s in Hawaii, she’s in San Francisco), the news he was going abroad “was a factor.”

Well I guess that's good news for all the single enlisted girls overseas, as long as none of them requires an actual conversation!

Former 'Bachelor' Firestone Engaged Again

Andrew Firestone, one of the seemingly endless 'Bachelors' who's quasi-reality enagement has turned to dust, is engaged again. This time it's to model-actress Ivana Bozilovic, and they plan to marry in the spring.

Bozilovic, originally from Yugoslavia, has appeared in 'Wedding Crashers' and 'National Lampoon's Van Wilder'.

According to Andrew's father, Brooks Firestone, "We love her," he said. "She makes Andrew behave."

Congrats, and hopefully this relationship lasts longer than the last one.

Meet The New 'Bachelor': Andy Baldwin

Ladies, start your engines! The new bachelor for the next season of ABC's 'The Bachelor' is the hottest one yet!

U.S. Navy Lieutenant Andy Baldwin, M.D., 30, an undersea medical officer for a special operations dive unit stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii - a real-life "officer and a gentleman" - faces the most exciting mission of his life -- finding true love -- when the tenth edition of ABC's popular romance reality series, "The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman," premieres MONDAY, APRIL 2 (9:45-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Andy, an accomplished triathlete and winner of recent humanitarian awards for his work in Laos last summer -- on a military mission where he treated over 600 Laotians in remote mountain villages -- grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he was valedictorian in high school and a competitive swimmer who made All-American. He was even named ESPN's National Scholar Athlete of the Year in 1995. The Navy offered him a full ROTC scholarship, which he took and went to Duke University, where he was a varsity letter winner on the men's swim team and began training for marathons, all while taking a pre-med course load and earning a degree in biology, with a concentration in genetics. After graduating Duke with honors, he enrolled in the University of California-San Francisco School of Medicine and was a surgical intern at Naval Hospital San Diego, where he graduated in 2003.

'Bachelor' Prince is Single Again

'The Bachelor' virgin, Sadie Murray, who came in second place to Jennifer Wilson, up and moved to New York to be closer to Prince Lorenzo Borghese when his relationship with Wilson went under. Unfortunately for Murray, the Prince didn't want her either, as it turns out.

Apparently the prince felt that she misrepresented herself on the show as a sweet, down to earth, intelligent, and innocent girl. In reality she is much more of a party animal, and doesn't take her job seriously at all. She is quitting her job at PR firm Behrman PR after one month, and is looking for something new.

Congratulations go out to the only couple to have successfully (so far) made a go of it after appearing on 'The Bachelor' and it's spinoff 'The Bachelorette'. Trista and Ryan Sutter are expecting a baby, after two years of trying to get pregnant. Trista is in her second trimester, and says she is suffering from some wicked morning sickness. She doesn't mind, because she has been told that's a good sign!

The couple met and married on national TV after appearing on 'The Bachelorette', and now make their home in Colorado, where Ryan is a firefighter.

Bachelor Prince Trades In Winner For Runner-Up

Prince Lorenzo Borghese has given his lady love the proverbial royal flush. On Season 9 of ABC’s The Bachelor, the cosmetics heir and dog products entrepreneur (who is of Italian nobility) picked public school teacher Jennifer Wilson over L.A. publicist Sadie Murray.

“Watching Sadie drive away in the limo was by far the worst moment of this entire journey,” a tearful Borghese said during the finale.

Apparently, he never got over saying goodbye to the publicist (and proud virgin). Despite having given Wilson a promise ring on the show’s finale, a source close to Borghese tells Us, “Lorenzo and Jennifer are now on the rocks, and he’s gone back to Sadie. They’re spending time together.”

So it is serious? “Sadie is moving to New York City, where Lorenzo lives, to pursue her career.”

(ABC and Warner Horizon Television had no comment.)
