Angelina goes cold on magazine cover

Angelina Jolie is so over all those Jennifer Aniston comparisons. The pair had avoided being pitted against each other for some time - that is, until November's W magazine hit newsstands. Editors released nine versions of the issue, including one of Jolie as the cover girl and another of Aniston. "Why would I comment on that?" Jolie snapped when asked about it at a Beverly Hills press conference for her upcoming flick Beowulf. "That matters because..." Jolie was less guarded when it came to revealing her Thanksgiving plans with beau Brad Pitt and their four children on Good Morning America Monday. Her fixings this year? "Everything, but I'm not much of a cook, so we'll see what happens," she said. "We all chip in, but I...don't think anybody in my family wants me to handle Thanksgiving dinner." With her culturally diverse brood, she said it's almost always a holiday at the Jolie-Pitt house. "We celebrate Moon Festival for my boys, who are from Asia, and Kwanzaa and things like that, so we certainly try to celebrate as many of those as we can and bring in all cultures."

Jennifer opens up

If Jennifer Aniston could be anyone else, she knows exactly who she'd choose to be. "I would love to be Oprah - just for one day," the actress tells Harper's Bazaar in the magazine's 140th anniversary issue. Aniston and Winfrey have been pals for some time, and last year the talk show host shot down rumors that she was planning a $1 million wedding for the actress and her then-boyfriend, Vince Vaughn. Continuing the line of questioning about Aniston's fantasy life, she's asked what she'd do if she worked for the government. "I'd be a spy. A very glamorous spy who plays poker and lives in Monaco," she says. "And has affairs with Daniel Craig." Talking more seriously about her life as one of the most recognizable faces in the world, Aniston, 38, recounts once walking 40 blocks in NYC without anyone noticing her. "If you can get away from the paparazzi and they don't know where you are, you can actually walk, walk, walk," Aniston says of the city where she is contemplating living again. "I don't know, I'm just tired of Los Angeles," she tells the magazine. "In New York, you're not just in that same car, looking at that same dashboard, driving down the same street." As for dealing with what both critics and the public think about her, she says she no longer pays attention to it. "I used to care a hell of a lot more about what people said or thought. But that had to change when my life was under a microscope being scrutinized and my personal life was being talked about," she says. "You have to go, 'This is not acceptable in any way,' whether it's about me personally or in business, success versus failure." The actress, who is currently filming the comedy He's Just Not That Into You, also defends her box office record, saying, "I've read things that said I wasn't successful at the box office or that my big hit was The Break-Up. But I said, 'Wait a minute. There was Along Came Polly, which did really well, and Bruce Almighty was a pretty big movie.'" Still, Aniston expresses surprise at her own massive success on television - and isn't afraid to poke fun at it. "I don't think anybody thought Friends would become what it did," she says. "It's all good, though. It's nothing but blessings. But seriously, who actually dances in a fountain?"

Aniston signs on for Traveling

Jennifer Aniston will co-star with Aaron Eckhart in the Universal drama Traveling. According to Variety, Eckhart will play a widower who writes a book about his grief and becomes a self-help guru. When a new woman (Aniston) - a floral designer in a Seattle hotel - enters his life, he realizes he hasn't put the past behind him. Production is set to begin early next year. It's been a busy couple of months for Aniston. The Friends alum booked a lead in Management opposite Steve Zahn and joined the ensemble of He's Just Not That Into You. She also snagged a lead in Marley & Me with Owen Wilson, but amid Wilson's personal tumult, that project has reportedly been delayed.

Jennifer Aniston flick to show at film fest

Jennifer Aniston will show off her directing skills at the Palm Springs International Film Festival of Short Films & Short Film Market. Aniston helmed a romantic drama called Room 10, starring Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson. Spider-Man actress Bryce Dallas Howard will also make her directorial debut with Orchids. The festival runs August 23 - 29.

Celebs show political support through cash

A new database on the Huffington Post shows how much money celebs (and regular folk) have donated to candidates in the 2008 presidential race. Fundrace 2008 reveals Jennifer Aniston and Halle Berry donated $2,300 each to Barack Obama's campaign (the max donation allowed for the Democratic primary, though supporters are allowed to give $4,600 total for both the primary and general elections). Obama's other famous supporters include George Clooney, Will Smith, Tyra Banks and Jamie Foxx. Hilary Clinton has received $4,000 from Donald Trump Jr., plus $4,600 from Martha Stewart. On the Republican side, Kelsey Grammar gave $2,300 to Rudolph Guiliani.

Jen to star in rom-com

Jennifer Aniston is set to be back on the big screen in the romantic comedy "Management." The former Friend will play a traveling salesman in the cheap art business who has a one night stand with an assistant hotel manager. The hotel grunt, to be played by Steve Zahn, then sets around the country in pursuit of Aniston's character.

Jennifer single again?

Jennifer Aniston has reportedly ended her brief fling with British model Paul Sculfor. Over the weekend, Sculfor left for a two-week trip to London, and sources say when the pair said goodbye, it was for good. "There was no drama," says an Aniston insider. "They had a couple of dinners and hung out - it was never more than that." There are no hard feelings, says the source: "Jen and Paul were friends and remain friends. They will probably go out to dinner again sometime."

Jennifer options rights to musical flick

Jennifer Aniston is lined up to produce and potentially star in a period musical called Goree Girls, based on the true story of eight women serving time in Goree Prison in Texas in the 1940s who formed one of the first all-female country music acts. The Friends alum and her producing partner have optioned the rights to a May 2003 article published in Texas Monthly entitled "O Sister Where Art Thou" about the women's story.

Jen's new guy on the town with Posh

Why was Jennifer Aniston's new man Paul Sculfor spotted having dinner with Victoria Beckham this weekend? Turns out they're old friends. "He's just an ex-boyfriend of a friend," Posh's rep explained. A longtime friend of Beckham, makeup artist Maria-Louise Featherstone, dated the hunky model when the pair were growing up just outside of London. "Maria-Louise and Paul remained friends after they split," says a friend. "Victoria knew Paul when the two were dating. She hasn't seen him for about ten years so it was a great chance to catch up." Looks like Sculfor is on his way to fame and a career in the U.S. - not only is he squiring Jennifer Aniston around town, the cameras were rolling during his dinner with Beckham for her upcoming reality series.

Aniston dating around, according to friend

People mag may have jumped the gun with their coverage of Jennifer Aniston's reported new beau, according to the actress's rep. "There is nothing to report," the PR pro says of Aniston and hunky British model Paul Sculfor's rumored new romance. "People's story was way too premature, and we are not going to start to comment on her personal life." A friend of the star agreed: "I wouldn't say he is her boyfriend," says the chum, adding that Aniston "is dating a bunch of guys. She has met a few really great, nice guys. She is just seeing what's out there."

Jen's hot new guy

Jennifer Aniston's Memorial Day mystery date has been revealed as hunky 36-year-old British model Paul Sculfor. The pair have reportedly been dating for several weeks. "He's a lovely guy," says a friend of Sculfor. "A gentleman. Simple things, like opening doors, he does all that. He'll think of the woman before himself." The couple were spotted getting cozy during an intimate dinner at Shutters Hotel in Santa Monica over the Memorial Day weekend.

Jennifer's new business venture

As previously rumored, Jennifer Aniston has a new gig - with smartwater. The water company reportedly approached Aniston "after she was photographed by paparazzi with the product," and the Friends alum loves the product so much, she invested in the company. As part of the partnership, Aniston "co-created a limited-edition smartwater label, which will be available in stores across the country this July," said a rep for the company. "We were thrilled that Jennifer discovered smartwater and realized what a difference it makes to her healthy lifestyle. To us, Jennifer truly embodies what smartwater is all about as she combines substance and style like nobody else."

Jennifer's mystery date

Jennifer Aniston was seen on the town last weekend with a new mystery man. The Friends alum and a sandy-haired hunk were spotted getting cozy at Santa Monica's Shutters Hotel last Saturday, where the pair slipped into One Pico restaurant at around 8 p.m. The couple spent three hours over a candlelit dinner and reportedly even held hands at one point during the date. Aniston's rep had no comment.
