Ryan Gosling was photographed last week with "Heroes" cutie Hayden Panettiere, but Tuesday night he only had eyes for Heath Ledger's ex, Michelle Williams. The two had dinner at Piadina and were caught by onlookers having a cozy cigarette outside the West 10th Street eatery. The star of "Lars and the Real Girl" was "smiling and gazing at her," said our witness. Reps for both said they weren't on a date, but just discussing an upcoming film project they're working on together.
Jessica and Tony heat up
The Dallas Cowboys had the weekend off – but quarterback Tony Romo still made plenty of passes. Jessica Simpson and the NFL star flirted up a storm Saturday at Hollywood nightclub Teddy's, as the two helped Simpson's BFF, Cacee Cobb, celebrate her 30th birthday. At first, the singer – wearing a form-fitting black dress and spike heels – and her new beau kept things low-key in a secluded booth. But as the night wore on, the two were spotted with their arms around each other. Then, after a few seconds of conversation, they leaned in for a kiss – right in the middle of the crowded club. Also on hand for the bash were Cobb's Scrubs-star boyfriend, Donald Faison, and Simpson's mane man, Ken Paves. Last month, Simpson and Romo, both 27, shared Thanksgiving dinner in Dallas. Is there romance in the air for Canadian rocker/photographer Bryan Adams and Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson? Reports in the British papers have linked the couple in recent days, suggesting Macpherson got flirtatious with Adams at a private party at his London home on Tuesday, following the opening of his latest photography exhibit. "Elle and Bryan are great friends. That's all I know," said Adams's rep. Macpherson, 44, split with longtime partner Arpad Busson, with whom she has two sons, in 2005. Adams, 48, has never married or had children.source

On the two-year anniversary of her split from Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson has a new man in her life: Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. She also showed up to watch him at a Texas home game Thanksgiving Day and referred to him as "my man" to friends. New couple alert? Maybe Ashley Olsen and Lance Armstrong have started a trend. Mandy Moore, 23 and Matthew Perry, 38, were spotted on a date at Amici Trattoria in Beverly Hills last week. One source said, "He was already seated and waited for her for 15 minutes until she arrived. He stood up to greet her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. They were holding hands across the table and being really close and laughing the whole time."

Christina Applegate and Jonathan Schaech's divorce was finalized in August, but the former couple apparently still have eyes for each other. Applegate, 35, and Schaech, 38, ran into each other unexpectedly at LA hotspot Les Deux on Friday night - and ended up having a close encounter. "They just made out all of a sudden," said an observer. "They didn't really look around to see who was looking, it just happened, but it wasn't weird after. George Clooney's new girlfriend made her public debut as his date at the Venice and Deauville film festivals. A source close to the actor says 28-year-old Sarah Larson is getting the thumbs-up from his pals. "She's really nice and generally liked by George's friends," said the source. Clooney "couldn't keep his hands off her" at Venice's Hotel Cipriani, site of the afterparty for his flick Michael Clayton, according to an observer. "At one point he just leaned over and kissed her on the lips," said a fellow partygoer. "My god, she is stunning." Larson, a one-time Fear Factor winner, works as a cocktail waitress at Las Vegas's Moon nightclub in the Palms Casino Resort, where Ocean's Thirteen had its premiere June 6. Sitting together on a couch in the back of the patio, Diaz and Mayer "were laughing and talking a lot," said an onlooker. Asked if the pair are dating, a source close to Mayer said, "Yes, it's definitely true." Reps for both celebs had no comment.

John Mayer seems to have rebounded from his last celebrity breakup - and moved on to another. Mayer was spotted out in NYC last night with Cameron Diaz. "They went out to several places... It was the two of them, getting to know each other, out on the town," says a source. Diaz is in New York filming What Happens in Vegas, and has reportedly known Mayer casually for a while. "This was technically not their first time hanging out...they've hung out together with friends before. But this was the first time together like this. It's new and developing...but they really like each other and it went well," said the source. Reps for both stars have not commented.

Who's Hilary Duff's new guy? The With Love singer was spotted getting cozy with New York Islanders hockey player Mike Comrie at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica last night. According to TMZ, the pair first hooked up while jet skiing in Idaho.
Colin goes public with his new gal
Irish actor Colin Farrell and his girlfriend of six months, 22-year-old Muireann McDonnell, gave a show to fellow bathers at a Vegas hotel pool last weekend. The PDA-friendly couple were spotted dining at Morton's steakhouse and taking in a few Cirque de Soleil shows in addition to soaking up the rays. New couple alert: Tommy Lee and Kimberley Stewart have reportedly hooked up. The Motley Crue rocker met Stewart, daughter of Rod Stewart, several months ago in London and the two are now an item. At last week's Pink Taco restaurant launch in LA, Stewart was seen running out to Lee when he was denied entry after the party was shut down by the fire department.
