A few weeks ago, I attended an appearance by Gorgeous George at Hell Fire Comics in Chicago Ridge Mall in Bridgeview, IL. It was promoted by PCW Wrestling, a great local promotion.
The folks at PCW do things right. PL Myers greeted everyone and chatted individually with several of us. The line was filled with good wrestling fans and a few of the PCW wrestlers were on hand as well.
Georgie (Stephanie Bellars) greeted everyone very warmly and exuberantly.. We talked about some of her other appearances (past and future) and then took the photo.
Georgie was sporting a new 'do and was getting rave reviews. She was in a great mood and everyone walked away very happy.
These are the types of appearances which make the hobby so great. Everyone from George to PL (and PCW) to Hell Fire Comics really made you feel like you were special. What more could you want?

PL Myers is Shooting to the Top
PL Myers proclaims that he is "The shot to the top" and I really can't argue with him. The fact that he manages brawlers for a living might be one reason, but his body of work is the main reason.
Myers has been on the Chicago wrestling scene for about ten years. He operates out of PCW, which puts on shows in the southwest Chicago area. He has recently released a book about his experiences. It's entitled "Gate to Gate" and can be purchased on the PCW website.
I have met Myers many times at various events. Myers is a special guy. He puts on a great show and really cares about the fans. It's an overused expression, but he just might be the hardest working man in the business
I recently encountered Myers at a signing with Gorgeous George at Chicago Ridge Mall. Myers was his usual self. He bounced around making sure everything went smoothly and everyone was happy. It was a fantastic experience.
Myers will be very busy this Saturday as PCW presents Heatwave, with special guests Christy Hemme and the Honky Tonk Man. This promises to be another awesome show.

Friendly Encounters
This is another in a series of meetings of my friends and celebs.
I am not sure of exactly how or when it happened, but my little buddy Jake has become a fan of wrestling and a collector of
autographs. I know Jake has expressed some disappointment that he was not with his mom and me when we went to the Wrestle Reunion in 2005, despite the fact that Jake was too young at the time. Still, our stories about Mick Foley, Roddy Piper, Terry Funk and more might have spurred some of his interest.
Recently, Jake and his mom went to a PCW event, where Ricky Steamboat Jr. and Roddy Piper were appearing. Jake was excited to meet both. He is too young to have seen Piper or Ricky Steamboat in their prime, but he is a smart fan. He has heard our stories of meeting Ricky Steamboat and he was excited about meeting Ricky Jr.

Sunny Days in Midlothian with Tammy Sytch
As reported here earlier, Tammy 'Sunny' Sytch has had an interesting career. Sytch has been involved in wrestling since 1993, reaching her peak in 1996, as AOL's most downloaded female. She has overcome problems and tragedies during her career.
In recent years, Sytch has made a bit of a comeback. Appearances with the WWE (especially recently at WrestleMania 25) and other indy groups have put Sytch back on the wrestling scene. Sytch has also gained new fans from her appearances at various celebrity conventions.
When I met Sytch at a PCW event last year, she was in a great mood. She goofed around a bit as she posed and signed photos and generally left everyone more than satisfied.
PCW is a great place to meet wrestlers because they get some big names and they always do things the right way. The wrestling stars, like Ric Flair, Christian and Sytch, always seem happy to be there.
