FDA Clears Laser to Treat Stretch Marks

The FDA has recently cleared a fractional laser for treating stretch marks. In clinical studies the Lux1540 produced an average of 51-75% reduction in stretch marks. This is the first fractional laser that I know of which has been cleared to treat stretch marks.

I find it extremely rare to see stretch marks after breast augmentation such as in Kate Beckinsale's photo here. In the past five years I think I've seen maybe three of my patients who've developed stretch marks after breast implants. Surprisingly, all three patients did not have large implants placed. All the implants were around 350cc. In these situations we've utilized a pulse-dye laser with pretty good results. It usually takes several treatments though. Unfortunately, there is no way to completely erase stretch marks without actually cutting them out (and trading them for a scar).

Luke Wilson is a Bewildered Action Man

Funny guy Luke Wilson is still bewildered at how he ended up doing an action/thriller flick.

Funny guy Luke Wilson isn't ready to be an onscreen action hero - especially after filming the horror thriller "Vacancy" with Kate Beckinsale. "Having to keep up the level of intensity ... was rough," he tells the May issue of Maxim, out tomorrow. "In one scene, this car is trying to run me down, so I have to dive into a motel room. I'm lying there with the crew looking at me, going, 'I do comedy, guys - I don't know what I'm doing down here.'"

I haven't seen this flick yet, but I'm a Kate Beckinsale fan and I love the horror/thriller genre. Anyone seen this yet? Let me know what you think in the comments.

If only I rolled out of bed looking as cute as Kate Beckinsale. Here' she is running around LA without makeup and sans bra. Oh woe is me.

Witherspoon out, Beckinsale in for 'Whiteout'

A couple of years ago there was a bit of buzz about Reese Witherspoon being attached to a script called 'Whiteout'. The story is about the first ever murder taking place in Antarctica, and US Marshal Carrie Stetko has to find the murderer before the sun sets, or she will be trapped with him (or her) in the darkness for six months.

Now the movie is set to get going, however Reese's name is no longer on it. Now it's set to star Kate Beckinsale, who I think will be a little more convincing as a US Marshal.

Nothing against Reese, but she is a bit better in fluffier roles. I guess that is what they call being typecast.
