The Jay Leno Club:Part 2

A couple weeks ago, I wrote about the first group of celebrities to join my Jay Leno Club. To recap, the Jay Leno Club is comprised of celebrities who have mentioned my alleged resemblance to Jay Leno. Currently, the club consisted of Patrick Warburton, Larry Zbyszko, the Honky Tonk Man, Terri Runnels, Brian Knobbs and the Iron Sheik.
After I wrote about my encounter with the Honky Tonk Man at the Motor City Comic Con, the Evil Zebra saw the piece and contacted me. When I knew I would be going to the Ultimate Collectors Show in Oaks (PA), he informed his buddy, King Kong Bundy, that I would be there and looking for him. Bundy was a lot of fun. He also joined the Jay Leno Club by making the reference.
Therefore, without further adieu, I present the 2 newest members of the Jay Leno Club, the Evil Zebra and King Kong Bundy! It is quite fitting that these two wrestling legends should be inducted together.

King Kong Bundy Meets Jay Leno

As I have written, when I met the Honky Tonk Man, he asked me if anyone ever told me I look like Jay Leno. We joked about that all weekend at the Motor City Comic Con. When I wrote about it, the Evil Zebra saw my blog and contacted me.
Evil Zebra is an interesting man. I have featured him once here and will soon again. EZ also knows King Kong Bundy and informed him that 'Jay Leno' would be seeing him in Oaks (PA) at the Ultimate Collectibles Show.
Bundy immediately recognized me when I approached him at his booth. (Am I really the only one who doesn't see the Jay Leno resemblance?).
We talked for a bit about wrestling, the Evil Zebra, and other things. He was funny and nice. What a great guy. It was a real pleasure to spend a few minutes with this wrestling legend.
Thanks to the Evil Zebra for facilitating this meeting. As I saw with other fans, Bundy would have been nice to me either way, but EZ helped make it extra special.

The Jay Leno Club

I don't remember when it started, but it was several years ago and seems to be picking up steam. The previous statement refers to my ever-increasing gray hair and to people alleging my resemblance to Jay Leno. Perhaps the increases in both are relational.
Frankly, I don't see a real resemblance. Oh sure, we both have a pronounced chin. We also have a shock of salt-and-pepper hair. (I would also say we both have a great sense of humor, but I am too modest.)
However, whether I see the resemblance or not, others do and they tell me about it frequently. Therefore, I have decided to start the Jay Leno Club and list all of the famous members.
The active members of the Jay Leno Club are Patrick Warburton, Larry Zbyszko, the Honky Tonk Man, Terri Runnels, Brian Knobbs and the Iron Sheik.

GT in LA:Patrick Warburton

One week ago, I was in sunny Los Angeles with the rest of the Global Traveler staff. Thursday night we had the annual GT Tested Awards cocktail party.
Patrick Warburton, star of Seinfeld and Rules of Engagement, was the guest of honor and spoke to the crowd on behalf of Pencils for Kids, an organization dedicated to lifting children from poverty through education.
Warburton arrived early and immediately started to mingle with the growing crowd. Of course, I grabbed our photog and got my picture with Warburton right away. As a big fan of Warburton's, I was not going to risk missing this opportunity. As I approached him and began to shake his hand, he asked me if anyone ever had told me that I look like Jay Leno. I asked him in return if anyone ever told him he looked like David Puddy. He got a kick out of that.
It wasn't the first time I have heard the Leno reference. I hear it quite a lot. In fact, at this party, I heard it about 5 times. Warburton would be the most famous of the bunch. Previously, Terri Runnels of WWE fame had been the most famous to ask me about Leno.

Warburton was very approachable, about as laidback as could be. We talked about Family Guy, his kids, other voiceover work and Los Angeles among other things. He seemed to be one of the most down-to-earth celebs I have ever met.

George Lopez Picks Feud With Leno

I think this year will be known as 'The Year of the Feuds', and fasten your proverbial seatbelts, because here comes another. George Lopez, of ABC's sitcom, has thrown his hat in the feud ring, and picked one with the king of latenight TV, Jay Leno. Why, you ask? I know I didn't really care, but Page Six says it's news.

Lopez was being interviewed on Orlando station WOMX 105.1's "Scott & Erica Show" when he told the radio hosts he wanted to "start a feud" with "Tonight" show host Jay Leno. "Leno is the biggest two-faced dude in TV."

Though Lopez didn't clarify why he felt that way, it's thought that he was insulted because Leno producers told Lopez he wasn't being invited back on the show because he wasn't funny enough the first time. Lopez begs to differ, and thinks it has something to do with having had a kidney transplant back in 2005.

Huh??

Maybe Jay thinks it's something he can catch.
