MK & A Launch Influence

Today fashionista style icons, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launched their coffee table book Influence. They celebrated by holding a book signing at Barnes and Noble in Union Square, NYC. The book features their own interviews with respected artists and designers who have influenced them throughout the past 10 years including Christian Louboutin, Karl Lagerfeld and Lauren Hutton. The Olsens Dig Their Heels Into Steve Madden

Looks like Ashley and Mary-Kate are spreading their design wings even more, this time collaborating on a line of footwear with mainstream mall staple, Steve Madden. The line will carry the name of one of their current projects, Elizabeth+James. So any thoughts? Will you be tottering around in some Olsen twin chaussures?

Yet another glamorous NYC event went down last night. The New York Public Library held the annual CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Awards, (basically the Oscars of fashion) and well, as you can see the fashionistas were out. From MJ and Posh, classic icon Ralph Lauren and designer Michael Kors, to AFO and Hilary Duff, there really never is a dull moment in the Big Apple.

I thought that this pic was kinda funny, look how much taller model Karolina Kurkova is compared to Ashley Olsen! She may be on the shorter side, but what an impact she makes! More power to us! (obvs. I'm a bit on the short side as well)

A Night At The Met

So, last night, major happenings in NYC! The Costume Institute Gala brought out many an A-lister to The Met and I just happened to be eyeing the red carpet as the stars were arriving. And by happened to be there, I mean I walked by on my way home and was across the street, stuck behind paparazzi and other ecstatic, not to mention screaming and waving (yes I waved) fans like myself. Although I didn't get a chance to see my love George Clooney (so upset!), I did show up just in time to catch a glimpse of actual superheroes welcoming guests at the bottom of The Met stairs, Mr. Big, Jason Lewis (hard to believe, but even more good-looking in person) the Beckhams, Tom and Katie, J.Lo, MKO (oh sorry, aka my abbreviation for Mary-Kate Olsen, who I'm sure just loved hearing my shout out to her and her sister), Mr. Lagerfeld himself, Blake Lively (so excited to see Serena considering I was missing Monday's ep. of Gossip Girl to star gaze), Valentino, Bonjovi, Eva Longoria and the list goes on.

Nicest/biggest smiles/longest waves to the crowd - J.Lo, Valentino and Tom Cruise (maybe it was just an act considering all of his bad publicity lately, but he did look genuinely nice)

Celeb who I wish I could have seen turn around - David Beckham (A bus decided to block my view, just as his gorgeousness turned toward the crowd)

Biggest undercover entrance - Karl Lagerfeld

Most surprising duo - Vogue's Andre Leon Talley, arriving toward the end, with Venus Williams at his side.

Best dressed - A tie between Katie Holmes and Eva Longoria

... They add books to the line up.



The girls are working on publishing a coffee-table book called Influences.

It will feature “the most interesting, challenging, creative people we know — the ones who helped pave the way for us and our generation,” Ashley said in a statement.

Among them: shoe guru Christian Louboutin, actress Lauren Hutton, photographer Terry Richardson and writer Bob Colacello.

“Ashley and I interviewed the people who have inspired us, with the hope that they will inspire and teach others,” Mary-Kate said.

Stay tuned for Ashley and Mary-Kate chocolate non-fat bars...just kidding!

Olsen Twins Getting Matching Nose Jobs

Dr. Raj Kanodia, nose job surgeon to the stars, is reportedly going to be performing matching nose jobs on the Olsen twins.

A source told In Touch Weekly magazine: "Ashley has always thought her nose was a little too big, so she wanted to get it done.

"When she talked to her sister about it, she loved the idea.

"They both love changing their looks. They thought this would make them look more polished."

Dr. Kanodia was in the news recently because he fixed Jennifer Aniston's deviated septum, and also fixed Cameron Diaz's broken nose.

Personally I think their noses look great. Maybe they should think about adding a little meat to ther frail bones, and fixing those mops they call hair instead.

Ash has dumped Greg Chait because he didn't want to settle down, so the 20 year old "old soul" has reportedly recycled an old romance and started dating 35 year old Jared Leto again. They briefly dated back in 2005.

First of all, who hasn't Leto dated? Second, why the hell is he so popular? He's a wannabe grunge rocker/sometime actor who has a horribly skinny physique and an unexplainable penchant for lots of black eyeliner. I won't even go into the anger management issues and low self esteem. Third, why is a 20 year old not even legal to drink wanting to settle down?

I could go on about this bad pairing all day, but I have many other posts to get to.

I had no idea that the Olsen twins were even around still, except for the occasional Llama farmer impersonation here and there. But I guess they are. And apparently, the slightly blonder less-emaciated one was dating someone. Until now. From Page Six:

Spies say the 20-year-old waif and her boyfriend, Tsubi jeans czar Greg Chait, 27, have split after an 18-month relationship. The reason: He wouldn't commit. "When they were together over the holidays, she told him she was looking for something more permanent. He wasn't ready for that," a source close to Chait told us. "So they decided on an amicable parting."

I really wish the actual reason for the break-up would have been that Olsen would have grown tired of the way that her "Jeans Czar" boyfriend had grown drunk with power over all that is denim and eventually became too tyrannical and despotic for her taste.
