All For The Kids

The orange carpet was all a buzz this past weekend as the stars turned out for Nickelodeon's Annual Kids Choice Awards Saturday night. Miley Cyrus showed up with her peace sign in tow, Rihanna and Chris Brown once again denied that they are actually a couple and Cameron Diaz fit right in with the young crowd. Hosted by Jack Black and his many a green outfit, the most coveted prize of the night, the honor of getting slimed, went to Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford, as well as Pirates star Orlando Bloom.

Lara Flynn Boyle - What Happened to Her?

Wow. What has happened to actress Lara Flynn Boyle's face? Her face is so puffy it is almost unrecognizable.

I feel really bad for her. I can only think of one medical reason why her face would be this puffy: steroids. If she is not on steroids for some particular reason (rheumatoid arthritis or other auto-immune disease) then it is very likely her plastic surgeon has been a bit over-zealous with fat grafting, Sculptra, or even liquid silicone injections, like what Priscilla Presley has had. For the record, I perform fat grafting and Sculptra injections quite often, and have never seen a result like hers from these relatively safe and conservative treatments. With her history of plumped-up lips, I would bet on some plastic surgery as being the cause of her unusual appearance, however. Her puffy face is not due to weight gain, as she looks as small as ever.

She may very well have BDD, or body dysmorphic disorder. This is a psychiatric condition where a person looks in the mirror and sees something that everyone else doesn't see. It can lead some people to undergo excessive amounts of plastic surgery in a misguided attempt to correct deformities that aren't there in the first place.

For her sake, I hope she gets some professional help, and not of the plastic surgery kind.

Max script update:

Updated several scripts, here's the major updates:

splinePainter: Fixed issue that would turn the paint button off even though you could still paint. Added Surface Offset Value, to place the spline a specified distance away from the surface. Added a way to rename the splines.
objectPainter: Added a way to add a prefix to the name of the objects.
makeObjectsUnique: Added options for refining what you want to make unique. Works on instanced controllers now (note: A max bug prevents all controllers from getting uninstanced, but it does work on most controllers.)

Casein - Applies in a Bag on Lace

This is my most recent casein picture – and my husband paid me a very high compliment – he said he didn’t think I could improve on it! Wow, very high praise indeed! He even commented on the depth in the shadows – perhaps he really is “Mr. Art Critic”!

I like to paint in series and apparently I now have a “thing” for lace and fruit – hmmmmmm!

It’s good to be painting again and, even more good news – finally got my Kodak Easyshare to work – only 3 calls to Kodak (read that 3 hours on the phone) and the receipt of a CD from them – but it’s working – thank goodness!

And – the best news – my husband bought a laptop and one of those wireless cards – which works on my computer also. So I now have semi-high speed internet – hey, anything over 24.0 bits per second is fast (yes, that’s correct – 24.0) – so if I get 200+ I think I’m flying and it’s already been up to 500+. I can even see videos! Hallelujah!

Craft Congress

It will be a busy busy week around here as I am tying things up to go to San Francisco for the weekend to attend Craft Con! Myself and Olivera Brattich, owner of the fabulous shop, Wholly Craft, will be representing Columbus Ohio! I am really looking forward to this, it should be eye opening and a great opportunity to meet some of the incredible folks at the forefront of the independent design and craft movement!

Here is a bit of the press release:

” . . . This unique business development conference will bring together over one hundred key individuals from the independent/DIY craft and design community. Crafters from across the globe will take part in this exciting opportunity for debate, discussion, and knowledge-sharing in an effort to explore and shape the DIY craft movement.

Craft Con was born in 2007 as Craft Congress in Pittsburgh, PA. This launch event brought together more than fifty indie craft show organizers from across the US, Canada, as well as the UK, to share knowledge, skills and experiences. Topics ranged all the way from guerilla marketing strategy to securing corporate sponsorship. Colleagues from across the world were able to meet face to face for the first time. Establishing a strong and supportive network for those who attended, the event also sparked crucial discussion about the future of the craft movement.

Did 14 Year Old Ali Lohan Get Her Lips Plumped?

Did Lindsay Lohan's 14 year old sister Ali Lohan have her lips augmented? Looks like it. This is a bit disturbing in two ways:
First, what plastic surgeon would inject lip filler into a fourteen year old girl?
Second, what mom would consent to have her fourteen year old daughter have a lip augmentation procedure?

While the risks of lip augmentation with a common filler like Restylane or Juvederm are minimal, this is a very unusual procedure to perform in a minor. I do not think it is right to perform ANY cosmetic surgery on minors, unless it is to fix a real deformity. This is not a good thing to teach our young teens. Normal sized lips are not a deformity.

The Lohan family has got some issues.

Cute Hansika Motwani

The Child actress turned full time actress now, Hansika Motwani was seen recently n Bollywood in the most "Disastrous Film released in 2007, Aap Ka Suroor". (Although the disaster had nothing to do with Hansika but with the actor) Hansika was born in Mumbai and speaks Hindi, English and Telugu. She has acted both in Bollywood and Telugu movies. The photos below are from her telugu film Desamuduru(already blogged about here) where Hansika plays a Sannyasi or a Hindu sage. A very cute actress!!
